The truth of the falling rocks of ice.

In a day like this one, a late november one, when rocks of ice fall from the roofs as the snow melts, I am more pesimistic than ever.
Some time ago, we, most of the Spanish people, screamed all around the world the famous “NO A LA GUERRA”. We did not want to go to war with the the USA and its friends against Irak, the people talked and that pro-war government was erased from power. Those were the times where the opposition claimed and complained that Aznar´s people were selling weapons to third world countries and supporting the American neoimperialism for the shake of the future distribution of the oil cake.
Mr Zapatero dared one day to talk in front of the UN general assembly, idealistic but brave, and propouse his famous “pact of civilizations”. Yesterday and today in Barcelona he defended it in front of the Euro-Mediterranean countries, whatever that means, looking for support and real actions to face the so called “biggest scourge of the 21st century”. Curious fact, but today also Spain signed a contract with Venezuela(http://www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2005/11/28/espana/1133186293.html)(http://www.elpais.es/articulo/elpepiesp/20050419elpepinac_26/Tes/Bono%20acusa%20al%20PP%20de%20practicar%20una%20doble%20moral%20con%20las%20ventas%20de%20armas%20a%20Venezuela). Nothing bad in principle, but alarming when considering that we are selling them weapons, whatever the kind and the use. Where is the pact? Where is the people´s will legitimally expressed with the tears and the blood of our dearest ones??
Democracy in Europe, in Spain as well, has reached a meaningless level.Come and vote for us, for the change! - they say. Vote for Europe!-they repeat. But, do we realize what lies behind all these motos?? I try to find out and I want to believe that is not money, but human ignorance. Human greed and human disrespect, the anxiety of power and richness, the deviation of the problem towards something more “eatable”, more entertaining, the invisible brain poluter of the post-modernist days.
